Seems It Never Rains in Southern California

In all my years coordinating weddings it has never rained as much and as hard as it did for Aly and Mike’s wedding. Who ever said it never rains in Southern California was in for a reality check. Within an 8 hr period we had rain, wind, hail and thunderstorm. The bride had envisioned her ceremony and cocktail hour to be held outside overlooking the mountains and the grapevines. An hour before the ceremony the skies clear and the sun was starting to shine, however, when the actual ceremony was about to begin the rain came back and it poured, leaving guests to run back inside the tent. Luckily, Aly and Mike saw each other before hand and had beautiful photos with the backdrop they envisioned. Despite the rain, it did not dampen the party. The Sargent Pepper band, a tribute to the Beatles did not disappoint the crowd, everyone danced and sang until the last song of the evening.

The bride’s mom brought all the table overlays, which consisted of a blue Dupioni with brown trims along the edges. The floral arrangement consisted of pussy willow branches, silver leaves and white flowers, creating more of a vintage vibe to complement the Japanese table overlay.
